On April 4th, Re:inventex proudly participated in the Global Youth Webinar on Zero Waste in Fashion & Textiles, a flagship event of the International Day of Zero Waste 2025, co-hosted by UN-Habitat Youth Office, the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP, and the ISWA Young Professionals Group - Ukraine.
Our development manager Tetiana Pushkarova had the honour of representing Ukraine, Re:inventex, and UKRLEGPROM – the Ukrainian Association of Light Industry Enterprises, sharing our country's challenges and achievements in the field of sustainable textile waste management.
The theme of this year’s webinar – “Towards Zero Waste in Fashion and Textiles” – resonates strongly with the mission and daily work of Re:inventex. As Ukraine’s first and only company that officially and ecologically addresses the issue of textile waste accumulation, we see it as our responsibility to develop effective infrastructure and sustainable business models to support the circular transition of the Ukrainian textile and fashion sector.
The webinar brought together nearly 100 passionate youth participants from across the globe, including sustainability professionals, innovators, and changemakers. The goal: to exchange ideas, spotlight regional efforts, and foster collaboration for systemic change in the fashion and textile industry.
Tetiana Pushkarova’s presentation highlighted:
She also emphasized the urgency for Ukrainian manufacturers to align with European sustainability regulations such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the EU Textile Strategy 2030, which will soon require:
At Re:inventex, we:
✅ Provide EU-compliant mechanical recycling of post-industrial textile waste using leading European technologies
✅ Certify textile waste recycling according to international standards
✅ Help textile manufacturers adapt to EPR frameworks and avoid losing access to the EU market
✅ Create high-quality recycled fibers
✅ Offer recycling services that are cost-efficient – almost twice as affordable as in the EU
Our aim is not only to support Ukraine's green transition but to become a regional hub for textile recycling in Eastern Europe, attracting investment, creating jobs, and building local capacity.
Tetiana reflects:
“It was an incredible honour to speak in front of nearly 100 young people who are genuinely passionate about sustainability. The energy, insights, and commitment of the participants and fellow speakers gave me hope that a better future is not just possible – it's already being built by this generation.”
We are grateful to the organizers for this opportunity to amplify Ukraine’s voice and share Re:inventex’s model as a blueprint for sustainable transformation.
With the adoption of Ukraine’s Waste Management Law in July 2023, which for the first time recognizes textile as a distinct waste category, and national strategies aligning with the EU Green Deal, the time to act is now.
We call on manufacturers, brands, policymakers, and consumers to join us in accelerating the transition toward a zero waste textile economy.
💚 Follow Re:inventex and let’s co-create the design of the future: not only beautiful, but also responsible.
